EARLY JOURNEY:

Matthew Swaggart’s journey into ministry began behind the scenes—building, creating, and serving with his hands. In his early twenties, he worked as a photographer and designer, developing a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, storytelling, and excellence. During those years, he served on staff within the local church, supporting media, outreach, and discipleship—learning to love the Church not from a platform, but from the work required to serve it faithfully. That season shaped his work ethic, his understanding of ministry, and a calling to serve without the need for recognition. During the same period, Matthew founded HoldFast Gear from a small workbench in his home, believing that excellence honors God. What began as one handmade camera strap grew into a globally recognized brand. Through building the company, Matthew learned to lead, steward responsibility, and trust God in uncertainty. These years were not separate from ministry. They formed a preacher shaped through leadership, creativity, adversity, and obedience—carrying one message forward: to stand, to go, and to carry the Gospel wherever God opens the door.

Swaggart Family Lineage:

Matthew is part of the Swaggart family line, a heritage marked by worship, preaching, and a generational call to proclaim the Gospel. His grandfather, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart, spent decades preaching Jesus around the world, and that legacy taught Matthew that God is faithful through both revival and trial. This lineage is not a weight he carries, but a foundation he honors. It has shaped his faith, strengthened his conviction, and clarified his calling to run his own race while carrying forward the fire of the Gospel into this generation.

Why Now?

After years of serving, building, and stewarding what God placed in his hands, Matthew now senses a clear shift in his calling to step fully into preaching, teaching, and equipping the Body of Christ. In a time when the world is hungry for truth and the Church needs clarity and courage, he feels compelled to preach the Gospel with boldness, faith, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. This is not a change of direction, but the fulfillment of a calling formed over a lifetime, to preach the Word, strengthen believers, and carry the Gospel wherever God leads.
